Some of Taiwan’s most sensitive military sites – including its facilities for the US-made Patriot missiles – have been accidentally revealed to the public through Google’s latest 3D-rendered maps.

In January Chinese President urged Taiwan not to stall unification, suggesting it could be achieved through the same “one country, two systems” model applied in Hong Kong and Macau under the one-China principle.
Taiwan’s Defence Minister Yen Te-fa said a task force had been formed to work with Google to seek appropriate adjustments to ensure national security was safeguarded.

This is not the first time Taiwan has asked for details of its military facilities to be obscured by Google. In 2016, it asked the tech giant to blur out part of Taiping Island, or Itu Aba, in the South China Sea, where it was building a military fortification.
In 2012, Taiwan asked Apple Maps to blur out a base in the northern city of Hsinchu, home to a cutting-edge US-made radar, capable of detecting missiles launched as far away as Xinjiang in China’s northwest.

I've met many Taiwanese boys who went through military, the hardly know how to shoot a gun or do a proper pull-up by the time they get out. I see them get off the buses, and there all skinny as can be. I remember one telling me about swimming exercises and he wore a life vest the whole time because he didn't know how to swim. Almost every year, the military accidentally launches a missile or has their secret computer stolen off a submarine.
I love Taiwan and the people but this is reality. Also an invasion from China without other outside defenses would be complete loss. But I'm almost 100% positive America would step in, in an invasion like that.

You met many Taiwanese that went through the draft. The draft is different from normal military training. Get that in your mind first.
Secondly, China can only invade in very specific beach heads at specific times of the year. Geography is half the battle, and Geography is very against China.

Patriot missiles in Taiwan? What good news !!!
After the DPP Tsai I W is voted out and a new KMT government is in place (soon). A few of the Patriot missiles can be sent from Taiwan to China to be examined for technology secrets and reverse engineered.

as if China doesn't have spy satellites that could see those sites without google, lol. There is not much space in Taiwan to hide things, not many places to build hidden bases.

I believe General Patton's army during WW2 prior to the invasion of Normandy kept the Germans guessing to the end.
Pretty sure if war was to break out, both sides have already marked all possible military sites for bombing. The bad thing about Hard Military sites, they can't be moved after they are built.
