A teacher took her own life a day after it was alleged that she had an inappropriate physical relationship with a young student.

Gretchen Krohnfeldt had been suspended from her job at the school in DenverColorado.

The following day the 47-year-old mother of three took her own life in front of police officers who were approaching her home to question her as part of an investigation CBS News reports.

Ms Krohnfeldt was reportedly suspended after a fellow member of staff reported witnessing an “inappropriate interaction” between her and a former student at the Drake Middle School.

Police were informed and launched an immediate and ongoing investigation.

She had no reason to kill herself. Even if it was true her punishment would not have been that severe. Had she been a man it would have been different.

Guy I went to school with Grad a year after me. Got his BA in education went on to get Masters. 2 kids lied and said he did stuff. 6-8 months later they admit they lied. State refused to give him his teaching cert back. Not saying she didn't but it's easy to accuse people of stuff. A lot harder to clear your name even when you didn't do it.

I hate the vague "innappopriate gesture" reference. That could be anything even a simple touch. Before people rat on others they need to provide details and evidence.

She didn't deserve to die that way. The problem with these sexual investigations with a minor is it completely ruins the person. They feel like there's no way out and nothing left. She still was a human being that had a family and a life. Just bad judgment.

She cared so little for her family that she had sex with a very young child - so it should not be a surprise she disregarded the impact her suicide would have on her children and selfishly went through with it.
